Tel Aviv Neighborhoods Guide for Airbnb: Part 1

Last month I was commissioned by Airbnb to shoot their neighborhoods guide for Tel Aviv. The guide covers 10 of the city's neighborhoods which I shot in just over a (very hot and humid) week. I have decided to post my selection of favorite photos on this blog, divided into three parts, each contains 3-4 neighborhoods, which are in geographic proximity but also have a common character and spirit, it's a summary of this wonderful and challenging assignment with the addition of some unpublished photos.

Here's a short Q&A with me about this assignment on the Wonderful Machine blog . The full guide can be seen on the Airbnb website

The first part consists of: Jaffa, The Old City of Jaffa, and Ajami neighborhoods.

Recent Publication - The Washington Post

A couple of months ago I wrote a post about an assignment I shot for The Washington Post in Tel Aviv saying/asking "what more can one ask for while on assignment?"

Well, apparently there's always room for improvement...

This week I got to spend a wonderful afternoon on the beach in Tel Aviv, shooting for a story about beach life in the city, one year after the Israel-Gaza conflict of summer 2014, also known as Operation Protective Edge. Perhaps the only disadvantage of assignments like this one is that in Israel they almost always seem to relate or connect to bad collective experiences like wars or conflicts.

I have to say that the idea of a beach office seems very appealing to me right now.
